Saravya, The people of the flame. Manipulators of flame and wind. A small but powerful cavilation locked away within the protection of the largest mountain ranges in Daratan. Their home, the royal city Aldedge, rests under the highest peak within the central expanse of the burning mountains. The safest foot path to the main entrance of the mountain snakes for miles through hot valleys of semi-molten rock and dead trees, fearsome drakes lurk among the mountain caves and Dragons rule the peaks of many of the ranges. The path moves like a river, and after the long hike through the crags and scorched earth, one would find themselves staring at the hole, the opening to the path of Flames.
Other small villages rest on the edge of the mountains and in some of the hotter valleys of the main path.
The cave itself is long and winding, check points limit your access deeper in as small outpost of solders guard over all access to the royal city and home. One checkpoint is guarded by a quarter of the entire Saravya army and it rests within the center of the passage.
The safest way to the city is not by land, there is no sea route, but by one of two ways. Obtaining a flight pass from the city officials and taking to the air. The main mode of air transportation into Saravya is Tamed Griffions, piloted by their tamers, the Saravya. The second safest is through Siram, in the underwater tunnels that run into the outskirts of the city. The official pass can also be obtained to smooth your entrance through the gates on the Path of Fire.
The people of Arcanthul Saravya are war based people. Close to 70% of the men are enlisted within the army and royal guard men of the warrior class, while the other 30% are in professions that aid the military or help the people of their home. Main professions inside of the city include warriors, blacksmiths, bakers, city guards, medicinal men and woman, beast tamers, and many more. Spears are the preferred weapon of all the military, second only to blades. Many of the men are also trained with a bow.
The people themselves are pale, due to lack of sun in their daily lives. Unless they had lived on the outside, then they are tanned. The people of Saravya do not like the outside because of the extreme temperatures within the mountain, due to their proximity and closeness to the molten earth just under the crust. They are not used to the outside world and so they take heed when traveling outside of the main city. They dress overly warm, even when traveling to places that are extremely warm, like Siram, and they use their abilities of fire to regulate their body temperature so they do not freeze. The average body temperature for a Sarayven is right around 103.4 degrees. All Saravyan four fangs on each side of their mouth, two on top two on bottom, have slightly thinner, lean muscular bodies, due to excessive training and the agility and swiftness required to take the quicker, more dangerous, paths home.
The main diety worshiped by the Saravyan people is the dragon. Dragons are seen as holy creations and sometimes gods, depending on the size and nature. Dragon Ryders are considered to be one with these deities, said to have the blood of dragons coursing in their veins, and hold special standings within the realm. Only tamers and warriors with a blood line directly connected with the Royals of Old can become Ryders, and these men and woman are given seats of power among the council, only answering to the king himself. They are the most powerful unit within the army, and often lead men to war with the cries and roars of their beasts.

Saravya’s abilities revolve around the heavy manipulation of Fire, and the light manipulation of Air. However, as the restrictions to one's abilities remains heavily influenced by their specialty and training. The normal Saravyan cannot create more fire than ones body mass at any one time unless they are more versed in the ways of fire. Specialists can produce more flames than one who is new to the ways of the flame. A Saravyan can spread fire, as in its natural nature, but throwing the fire at an opponent can be inaccurate due to its wild and unpredictable nature. The more focus and energy put into the throw is equal to how accurate the attack is. To create fire and use it as an attack takes more energy than to draw an open flame to ones body and use it. The amount of fire that can be manipulated from an open source is equal to the amount of flame present. A candle will give you a small amount of flame, while a raging blaze will provide an indefinite amount of fire. Air manipulation is used to cool a Saravyan in the extreme heat of the mountain and to fan the flames in times of fighting, though this ability is sometimes used for other things. The Epitome of Saravyan Fire Manipulation is the ability to pocket air and explode it with a flame they send to that point. This ability is only taught to those of direct Royal blood and those deemed worthy by the Royal Family.
