Though the warmth surrounded the couple, Icim felt a soft shiver move up her spine; her mind struggling to realize that it was the reaction to the finger in which ran down it. This cold feeling that it gave her would not last long as she turned her head, her cheeks turning a soft pink as she felt passion rising from deep within her heart. Confusing as this passion was, Icim bathed in it just as she bathed in his warmth and affection; if you could call it such.

Thoughts swarmed through her head as she looked upon Ignis now; these thoughts showing her little by little what these feelings were. She wanted to be near him, yet she would have been happy with just his company; she wouldn't need to feel the brush of his hand upon her frame. Though, there was not lust within her mind; merely need. She needed him around, whether she was ready to admit it or not, and the thought of losing him would never cross her mind and leave her whole; she only felt that within his embrace.

Moving herself into a different spot so that she could feel more comfortable, Icim felt her body heating up to what it had never been before. Confusion ran through her eyes for a moment, only ceasing as she looked up at Ignis and realized that there was still teenage angst within her. Now came the internal battle; whether to pull away to save her own pride, or to fall into his embrace and enjoy the moments they spent together. She had never felt the need that she felt now, the need to lay as lovers with someone for the first, but she wondered if she should just back away and let things go. If she were to fall into his embrace, she would be even more vulnerable to his touch, his scent that lingered upon her skin, and the reason why her heart pounded within her chest.

With a slight, almost unnoticeable, shake of her head, Icim let herself melt into him once more; her focus solely upon his beating heart. He was real, and he was here with her for a reason.

Icim could only wonder what went through his mind...

Though the upper half of her body was chilled slightly by the cooler out outside of the water, Icim's body would not even register the chill, for her lips soon found themselves pressed against those of Ignis. The need had only begun to strengthen as his hands ran along her back and sent chills up her spine, and her mind and heart raced to see which one could do their job quicker.

Her heart was pounding against her chest now, quickly and heavily as their lips parted. It took her only a few moments to want the connection again, even though her breath was far too shaky for another kiss. There was lust within her, and as she struggled to keep it in, Icim's eyes faded back to their original blue. Now her mind and heart had to work as one for two purposes; to keep herself in control, and to feel for Ignis. The first was the hardest one to do, for she knew that she could not stop the feelings for the man before her.

Leaning forward once more, she would softly brush her lips along his before pressing her lips to his for another soft peck. It was as if she couldn't get enough of their contact, but she would go no further than this. He was bare beneath her; her just as bare above him. She could have easily taken advantage of the situation and pushed it further; letting the lust out in all of it's glory, but instead she moved so that her rump rested on the space beside him once more.

Looking to him again, she let out a soft sigh; letting her lips part before she spoke, "I'm sorry, Ignis. I don't trust myself around you sometimes, and this is one of them..." Once she had spoken these words her head would hang slightly before her, and she could only hope that Ignis understood why she would ever dare to pull away from the warmth.. from the very thing that made her life seem like something of worth again. The last to do that had been her parents, but they were long gone by now.

If he walked away now, Icim wouldn't know what to do...

Disbelief..

Pain..

Confusion..

Three emotions hit her with a force that she had not experienced before this very moment, and only because Ignis had removed himself from her side and sighed. She had let herself be shown to a man, and now he left her side when she couldn't give into the lust that had ran strong within her veins. If there was another reason behind his climbing out of the water, Icim's brain wouldn't have been able to wrap around it at that moment. She couldn't believe that she had let herself fall into this position, and the sting of him being but a few feet away hit her in the center of the chest; yet confusion was to shoot through her at his countenance. He was happy; giddy in a sense, whilst Icim sat and focused on the fact that she no longer had the warmth surrounding her.

Embarrassment..

Finally having let her guard down, Icim sat alone in the tub as Ignis dressed himself. Though she would not look over at him, she had a somewhat image of what he looked like standing in the cooler air in the open area; though she looked no lower than the tip of his stomach. She'd found no need to, and maybe that was why she felt alone once more. She could have sat there and sulked for the rest of her life, but as she found him striding toward her armor and speaking words that she sort of skimmed over, Icim's confusion came back.

'Am I over-reacting a bit?...'

There was always a possibility of this happening, and so thought back on the words that she had heard just a few moments before; realizing that she had been too emotional for the situation. She had let her insecurities and emotions get the best of her, and from then on she vowed to let things play out a little more before she lost herself.

Taking the time to climb out of the tub as Ignis seemed to be lost within his own thoughts, Icim grabbed at the towel that was close to the tub and wrapped from her chest down again; only to begin walking toward him. She took her time as she walked toward him; taking in the sight of him back in his armor and covering all of the scars that her fingers still demanded that she touched. She smiled as she came close enough for her towel covered frame to brush against his as she reached out for her armor and waited for him to give it to her.

Once she would recieve her armor, she would look around for a good spot to change and find nothing better than where she was or the little room that she had been in before. Since she had already bared herself to the man, she carefully slipped and then clipped on her bottoms, but the top would force the towel to come off. Her emotions shutting down for that moment, she let the towel fall to the ground her she clipped the top across her chest and looked down at her pale flesh; which now seemed to be replenished and not so plain.

With this now accomplished, she found a place for her towel, took his hand in hers, and began to walk toward the door of the bathhouse.

"What if Shurik is not around, my dear?..."

Whilst she walked toward the door and heard him speaking of the area in which she looked over many-a-days, Icim's mood brightened just a bit more. She would not speak of the reason though it sounded in her head, 'Home...'. Looking back now, she could recall seeing many of the soldiers that would have been fighting in the war as they trained; having been unheard and unseen until one day she saw ruthlessness within a man. She'd not known who he was, but she had let out a sound that she thought was soft yet turned out not to be. Twenty or so men had looked up at her then, and she'd even gotten a whistle from one as he broke away from the group to find her.

The memory of the man showing up to her doorstep caused a jolt of anger to shoot through her, but she had intelligently lowered her head at this point; knowing what the thought would do to her. As she slipped out of the door, she turned to stare back at Ignis and gave him a little shrug; showing nothing of her emotions. She was as clean as a slate, yet she knew that her shoulders were already tense and could be noticed with his keen eyes.


"You can do as you wish, dear, for I am going to know where I am once we reach the barracks." With these words spoken softly, Icim wouldn't let it be known that inside she boiled with pent up anger or that she did not like the way the commander was. Even though she liked violence in general, the commander had been different. Something inside of Icimdeki was afraid of this man, and being one to follow her emotions, she would talk to him little; acknowledging his existence when it was needed.

Now she turned from Ignis and began walking toward the direction they would have to take, though she wasn't sure if she was right or not...

Icim knew the general area, and though she hadn't been out much, she knew where the barracks were. Though her feet moved her forward, Icim's heart seemed to slow down in pace; her mind working too fast for her heart to catch up. She didn't want to chance seeing the men training while she was close to them, nor did she wish to run into the commander. His words caused her to look around the area, and deciding that it was safe, she would sigh and close the distance between them.

With a soft spoken tone, she would answer, "I think that I will stay away from the violence for a little bit. I was thinking of going to my home, the one whose window practically looks over the training area, but I could always wait out here." Rising to the tips of her toes now, she would allow her lips to press to his lower. "If you are simply looking for your commander and coming back out, I will stay here, but if not, I shall be in that window." Now she let herself move back into her normal height, letting him choose which one he wanted to do. She knew that he loved to train, and she knew where she was now.

"I leave this decision up to you, my dear.".. With that she would step back from him, not wanting any attention from those who might be out and about...

With a parting came the bittersweet moments of one's relations with the other. On the brighter side of things, Icim received the goodbye kisses and felt his warmth as she began to make her way to her home. It would not take her long to reach the large wooden door, and reach to the hiding spot for her key.

Slowly sticking the key into the proper place and turning it to the right, Icim opened and soon entered her dwelling. Looking from one bare wall to the other, Icim felt a soft sadness sweep over her. Many days had she sat alone in this this room and thought about what life could have in store for her, but never did she think that she would actually have a reason to climb up to the highest part of her home and look about the barracks. With more pep in her step than usual, Icim would bound up the spiral staircase toward her room.

Drifting into the small closet of armor, Icim unclipped the obsidian scales and reached in to grab at her second favorite set. It was made of a deep red to match her hair, though it caught the light at angles where the obsidian did not. She would stand for a few moments in her paleness; letting the warmth overtake her, but wanting to see Ignis overpowered everything that had to deal with her.

Sliding on the cooler silk of the garment, Icim's skin would rise with goosebumps and send her body into a uncontrollable shivering. Once the top was on and warmed up to her temperature, she slid the bottoms to the crimson set and clipped it in place. Only then would she scale up the rest of the stairs until she reached the uppermost window of her dwelling. Prying it open easily, she would settle herself upon the window seal; her pale flesh sticking out against the darkness of the stones that her dwelling was made out of.

It wouldn't take her long to focus on the man that she had wanted to see for his flames stood out above any other, and though she was higher up than everyone else, she felt his presence all around her. With but a soft sigh of content, Icim let her head rest upon the window frame; eyes still focused on Ignis as he waited for someone to challenge him.

This was about to get interesting... Icim could feel it.

Smiling at the librarians, he slipped on the dark red shirt they had given him."I thank you for everything. It means alot." He spoke gently, as he gathered his pack, staff, and the two shirts that had been formed into a makeshift pack as well to hold Sykosi's remains. He sighed deeply and bowed his head towards the people of the Library."If there is anything you need, I will see if I can't do it. Especially after... that... incident a few days ago. I wasn't totally in the right mind." he shook hands, bowed his head, and out of the door. he could feel the tension leaving them as he stepped out.

Once more, he ignored the looks of everyone, walking down the street, his thoughts calm."The calm before the storm..." He muttered to himself as he walked through the street, the lights dim, casting threatening shadows across the buildings, as well as everything else aroud him. He hardly noticed it. It wasn't as if they scared him, but his mind was off somewhere else. It always was nowadays. A deep breath escaped him as he stopped at the gates of Incendia. he sighed deeply, and walked out, nodding to the guards at post."Have a good night." He muttered as he walked by them.

Eventually, he was out of sight and Incendia was no longer his problem.


Not yet atleast.

After travelling the whole day, Caelia had finally arrived back home. Kiba had caught up with her halfway through the forest on her way back, and she was glad to have him by her side again. Travelling alone made her slightly antsy. She made her way through the streets of the city until she reached her dwelling. She walked through the door of the one room house and glanced around to find it was exactly as she had left it. "Home sweet home," she muttered as she sat her things down and sat on her makeshift bed. Her legs were sore from all of the travelling she had done and it was good to have a rest. Kiba padded in and dropped next to her bed, clearly as tired as she was. Caelia made a face as her stomach growled, and she pulled a piece of dried fruit from her bag and began nibbling on it, not really wanting to eat right now, but needing the energy. After she finished that, she got up and went over to grab her water bucket and go get some water for drinking and to wash her hair with. If Ari could see her now, she would be fussing about how healers should always keep a clean appearance. Caelia obviously hadn't done that in the past few days. She drew enough to last the rest of the day and the next day too and took it inside. She shed her dirty tunic and began to wash her hair. The cool water felt good on her scalp and woke up her clouded mind. She squeezed the excess water from her hair and donned a fresh tunic and pair of dark pants. "Well Kiba," she said to her sleeping companion. "What shall we do now?" She planted her hands on her hips and looked around her small dwelling. I suppose I could go check to see if anyone needs a healer, she thought. Caelia picked up her healer's pouch, leaving her bow behind, thinking she wouldn't need it now, and headed out into the streets. The evening air was warm and the city began to grow quiet. Caelia looked about for signs of the other healers. She didn't see any, but she did see the occasional guard and once, a citizen who had stayed behind while she was walking the streets. I wonder if any of the soldiers need medical attention? She figured they probably didn't, but it was worth a look. She headed toward the barracks, a place she wasn't as familiar with as she had only travelled there once with Ari before. Caelia felt a bit unnerved at the thought of going by herself, but sucked it up and kept moving. When she reached the general vicinity, she looked around, studying the houses. They were much bigger and nicer than her small little dwelling, not that she minded. She preferred the cozyness of her one room house to these giant places. They are very pretty though, she thought. If I ever take up sketching again, I may draw one. Caelia glanced about at the tall houses and spied a young woman out on the ledge of one of them. She looked oddly familiar, wearing a red ensemble, but Caelia couldn't make out who she was from where she was standing. She shrugged thinking it was probably just some noblewoman out watching for the sunset and kept walking toward the barracks, just passing under the ledge.

Though Icim looked over the barracks, her attention would soon wander to a figure moving toward the barracks, and Icim knew just who it was. She could feel the sadness creeping into her veins as she thought of her old friend, the one who would not be alone again, having had neither of the women there to comfort him on those lonely nights. At this thought, Icim found herself speaking lowly, "Oh, Syn.. I'm so sorry." Now her small frame would move back through the window, no longer wishing to watch the violence below her. Her only concern was getting down to that healer to ask if she had seen Syn after Icim had left, and to learn of his condition. If he had been hurt.. in any way, shape, or form, she would only blame herself.

Gliding through the door and down the steps once more, Icim gathered up a few food items and flew out of the door, remembering to put the key back in it's place and to lock the dwelling once more. Once this was done, she would begin to walk toward the barracks' entrance, hoping that she wouldn't miss the girl who also knew of Icim's only friend.

Pushing herself into action, she would soon pass under the ledge and speak only one word, "Caelia..."

She wasn't sure if she had heard her name being called or not. The voice sounded familiar, but Caelia was sure that no one she knew would be in this part of the city, unless...She turned around to see who it was who had called to her. It was the woman she had met that day before the war had started, and who had been with Syn the night she had been attacked by wolves in the forest. It was also the woman she had just noticed up in the window ledge moments before. Up close she could see the scarlet outfit she wore more clearly. It was beautiful, and it wasn't something Caelia was used to seeing every day.

Hi...," she replied distantly, not sure how she would be welcomed this time. "Icimdeki, am I right?" Caelia wondered why she would want to speak to her now. It's not like we've been exactly friendly to each other, she thought silently. Then Caelia remembered the forest and her conversation with Syn, when she had finally gotten him to say why he had been so upset when she had come back. His pain.... she sighed a bit, hoping Icimdeki wouldn't notice it. She offered a slight smile and asked, "Did you wish to speak to me?"

When the woman turned, Icim found herself letting out a breath that she didn't know she had held in, and for a moment she thought that this would be easier than she had once thought. Looking two and fro for the wolf, Icim found herself relaxing for she didn't see it. Maybe it had stayed with Syn and offered comfort where she did not. Stepping toward the woman and thus further into the barracks, Icim would offer her a small smile though she saw that this woman knew more than she let out.

After the woman spoke, Icim found her head nodding just a tiny bit. "Yes.. I was wondering if you ever made it back to.." Now she looked around nervously, knowing that there could be others around them. "...him, and if you did, I was wondering if he was alright." Icim would let her eyes drop for a moment of insecurity, feeling the regret for leaving him just like everyone else had. "If you don't wish to speak to me about his condition or if you do not know, I can leave you alone.. I'm just worried about him." Though she was warm in the volcano, Icim found that goosebumps rose from her skin. Lightly running her hands over them, she would let out a soft sigh.

'I never should have left...' sounded in her head as she looked toward the woman again.

Caelia knew she was looking for Kiba immediately, and was glad she had left him at home. She knew for some reason that he made Icim uncomfortable, and if she had brought him along with her, she was sure Icim would have had a more defensive attitude toward her. She glanced around their surroundings as well, looking for others and seeing none, but she could tell that Icim didn't want anyone else to hear what she was saying, and here in the barracks wasn't the best place for a private conversation. Caelia kept her voice low in answering, "It's perfectly all right. You are not bothering me at all. I did make it back, and he was...alive to say the least." Caelia looked around, wondering if there was a better place to discuss the matter of Syn and Icim's concern for him. I could take her to my home. It's empty, but Kiba is there, and she doesn't like him. Then she thought of the healer's tent. It was not her ideal choice, but it would be empty now, and there was hardly anyone on that side of the city now anyway. She sighed. It was worth a shot. "I can tell you are nervous. Would you like to go someplace else to talk?" Caelia asked, hoping that by being able to speak to Icim they could finally clear up some of this mess, whatever it was between them and the man who called himself unhuman.

Her words were nothing that Icim wouldn't have expected, but still they cut at her small bit of sanity. How could she have left him there, even if her real duties were within the walls of Incendia and her heart laid in an Incendian's hands. Syn was part of her just as much as Ignis was, and even Icim couldn't deny it. There had been only faces before these two men, for she never knew the names of the people around her, yet these two were always passing through her mind. She could never un-do the hurt that she had dealt the boy, but she wished that she could take the pain away from him and live in it instead. At the words of a 'safer area' to talk in, Icim nodded and would walk out of the barracks once more, moving her way down to her villa. Upon reaching it she would re-open her door and step through the tall home, leaving the door open for the healer to join her though Icim would simply walk in and down a hallway a good bit with her head down.

Once the woman would enter, Icim would finally speak, "At least he was alive... I've feared for him.. known what I should have done, but I chose differently. Please, tell me more, Caelia.."

When Icim turned and walked out of the barracks, Caelia let her go a few paces before following her to what Caelia guessed was her home. Why didn't I think of this? she mentally shook her head in amazement as she walked distantly behind. She entered through the large door, looking about as if she wasn't quite sure she should be here, and shut it behind her. Caelia had never been inside one of the homes on this side of the city, and the thought of being in her put her a little on edge, but she continued to follow Icim down the hallway until she stopped and turned to speak. "Feared for him?" Caelia held back a chuckle at the thought of someone actually fearing for Syn. From what she had seen during her time in the forest, the man could kill anyone as soon as look at them if he so chose to. "As far as health goes, he was fine, but I'm sure that's not what you were asking." She sighed, not sure where exactly to begin telling. Should she tell everything that happened, or just cut to the chase and only tell of the man's wellbeing?
"Well, I could tell a lot had happened before I made it back, Ari always did say I never really knew how quick I could be, and a lot happened in the short time I stayed there with him," she began. "Anyway when I finally arrived back in the forest, it looked like there had been a great fight of some sort, and I'm almost a hundred percent positive that one of the royal dragons had been there. After finding this, I found Syn. He looked...upset...no, hurt is a better word. He was sad and angry all at the same time, and his words made no sense to me at first. He kept referring to a 'siren' and saying he hoped I wasn't one. Then as time passed I began to be able to sort of piece what went on together. Gaps still remain in the story I'm sure, but from what I could tell, he loved someone and they left him." Caelia left out the part of him telling his past to her and their training, as she felt it wasn't what the woman wanted to know. "I figured that someone was you...but I wasn't sure, and if I'm wrong correct me. Anyway, he let me spend the night in his 'burrow,' and the next morning he took off. He didn't say where he was going, just that he had to go there. After that, I came home." That was all Caelia knew to tell. She looked down, awaiting Icim's reply.
